Tens of thousands of supporters of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen managed to stage a rally near U.S. embassy on Friday to protest against the blasphemous movie Innocence of Muslims.
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, secretary general of the MWM had given a call for countrywide protest against the sacrilegious movie and announced main rally would be staged outside the US embassy.
Thousands of Shia Muslims have gathered outside Jamia Masjid and Imam Bargah Isna Ashri in sector G-6/2 Islamabad after Friday prayers and started marching to the U.S. embassy.
Heavy force was deployed to stop the rally but the protestors broke the hurdles at two places including at diplomatic enclave. Police manhandled the demonstrators and tried to disperse them before they could reach near U.S. embassy.
The protestors were wearing bands around their forehead inscribed with Labbaik Ya Rasoolullah (PBUH).
The angry Shia Muslims burnt the flags of United States and illegitimate Zionist state of Israel to express their sentiments against the movie. They raised slogans death to America and death to Israel condemning them for the production of the movie.
Speaking to the protestors, Allama Nasir Abbas Jafri, Allama Amin Shaheedi, Allama Aijaz Behishti, Allama Asghar Askari and other office bearers of the MWM, declared the administration of the United States and Zionist regime of Israel as number one enemies of Islam.
They said that Obama administration was directly responsible because their administration could have stopped the movie. He demanded an immediate apology from the U.S. and all those responsible for the production of the movie.
They demanded of the government of Pakistan to break off diplomatic ties with the U.S. and expel the U.S. ambassador and diplomats.
The MWM officials said that the United States-led West was trying to push the world to clash of civilizations and under that conspiracy they desecrate Islam and sacred persons of Islam.
They said that Muslims across the world have rejected the movie and reacted to the satanic move of the imperialistic powers.
It was first huge rally in Pakistan that was staged near U.S. embassy in protest against the blasphemous movie “Innocence of Islam.”
