Allama Sajid Naqvi, Chief of Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan visited Chakwal in Punjab province where he met the heirs and relatives of Kausar Saqlain Khokhar, a Shia lawyer who was shot martyred along with his two young sons in Karachi some days ago.
He was accompanied by the local leaders of the SUC during his visit to the Lehrhi Panjgraaeen. He met Matloob Hussain, father of the martyr lawyer and shared condolence with him.
Later, he also spoke at a gathering of Sunni and Shia Muslims where he said that martyrdom is not a new thing for Muslims. He said that Shiites sacrificed their lives to uphold the true path of Islam.
He said that Pakistan was passing through a critical phase and it needs prudent and wise decisions by the eminent people.
He asserted that Shiites are a civilized faith and they believe in unity and cohesion of Muslims and human beings. He said that Shia Muslims reject extremism, fanaticism and terrorism.
